Pinterest has completely consumed me.
Really — it’s that addictive. I find myself scrolling for hours, skipping workouts, staying up way too late, and attempting overly elaborate treats like this cupcake fondue. If anyone’s keeping score, I’m headed straight for a sugar-related disaster.
It makes me wonder why no one warned me how addictive it would be. Why doesn’t my house look like the ones I pin? Why does it leave me standing over the stove for hours like it’s 1955? And most importantly, why did it take this long for me to discover cupcake fondue?
Also: who knew wasabi peas were so, well, wasabic? I bit into one and my tongue is still protesting.
Side note: aren’t my little cupcakes wearing the cutest liners? Heather sent those to me and I adore them — cupcake liner lingerie, indeed.
Remember when I teased these photos on Facebook and many of you guessed they were brownie pops? Tricked you — and you should be glad. This is far more exciting.
They’re fun, prettier, fancier, and yes — sparklier. I might even invent words to describe how awesome they are.
Beyond looks, cupcake fondue is totally customizable. You can choose any mini cupcake flavor and dip it in melted white chocolate, a vanilla cream glaze, or a favorite frosting. Multiple fondues would be delightful — chocolate, vanilla, even something fruity — though juggling several warm bowls may be impractical for one person.
Cupcake Fondue

For the mini cupcakes: A boxed mix works perfectly, but I used a simple white cake recipe when I made these.
For the “fondue”: Melted white chocolate, a vanilla cream glaze, or a thin buttercream will all work. If you use melted chocolate or a glaze, keep a low heat under the fondue pot to maintain a smooth consistency. If using buttercream, skip the heat and accept that dipping may be a little trickier.
Toppings: sprinkles, shredded coconut, mini chocolate chips, crushed cookies, and anything else you enjoy.
The method is straightforward: prepare your chosen frosting or melted chocolate, set it gently warm if needed, arrange small bowls of assorted toppings, bake mini cupcakes in liners, and let guests dip and decorate. It’s a simple, festive way to serve mini cupcakes at a party or get-together.
Now for a serious question: did you expect me to love sprinkles this much?
