Put on your stretchy pants—seriously, do it now.

Some recipes just call to you. Every so often I find a treat that’s so irresistible I can’t wait to share it. A reader named Amber emailed this cookie dough dip recipe and I was instantly obsessed. It’s simple, fast, and uses common pantry ingredients—so you can make it right now.

I almost made it late one night, but decided to wait until morning so I could photograph it and enjoy it with company. When I did make it the next day, I leapt out of bed for it—true story.

Highlights:
- Super simple and quick to prepare.
- Likely made with ingredients you already have on hand.
- Ridiculously delicious and dangerously snackable.
I served the dip with animal crackers, but it’s fantastic with graham crackers, Nilla Wafers, apple slices, salty pretzels, homemade cookies, or cinnamon-sugar pita chips. Or do what I sometimes do: skip the dippers and eat it with a spoon.

Cookie Dough Dip
Yield: 1 (about 1/2 cup)
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and whisk until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat and let cool slightly, then whisk in the vanilla.
- Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together for about 60 seconds until smooth. With the mixer on low, gradually add the cooled brown sugar and butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips (or add them while mixing so they break into smaller pieces). Garnish with extra chopped chocolate if desired.
- Serve with fruit, cookies, crackers, pretzels—or a spoon.
Course: Dessert • Cuisine: American

One last important note from Amber: cookie dough dip “has zero calories when eaten with friends.” I’m inclined to agree—this is best shared.
I think I love this recipe.
