We very much need jam margaritas right now.

I’m temporarily bringing back cocktail Thursdays so you can mix up the ultimate pantry drink this weekend: bubbly jam margaritas.

Yes — any jam you love works. Add it to a shaker with tequila and lime juice, shake with ice, and you’ll have a bright, fruity margarita in minutes.
In a very good place.
A very good place with a salted rim and a frothy, icy cocktail in hand.
If you want more cocktail inspiration, I’ve shared lots of ideas over the years — you have plenty of options to choose from.

I’m gearing up for a cozy Cinco de Mayo at home. I’m thinking tacos, maybe nachos, and definitely a margarita. If you want a classic, I have a favorite, but here are five other margaritas I love:
Pink grapefruit margaritas
Blood orange margaritas
Watermelon rosé margaritas
Mojito margaritas
Coconut creamsicle margaritas
They all sound incredible because they are. Highly recommended.

Lately I’ve been making cocktails mostly on Friday nights — sometimes Saturday — and this jam margarita is my newest favorite.

So!
The best part: you don’t need to make simple syrup. Simple syrup is easy, and you can keep a batch in the fridge, but jam replaces that step and adds instant fruit flavor.
This isn’t my first jam cocktail. Years ago I made a cider-bourbon jam cocktail and it opened my mind to using jam in drinks. It’s an effortless way to introduce fresh fruit flavor to cocktails.

I’ve tried strawberry, blackberry with jalapeño, apricot, peach and fig for margaritas. I’m a bit obsessed with stocking seasonal jams and it’s fun to experiment — imagine pitchers of margaritas using different jars from your pantry.
Shake the ingredients with ice, pour into a salted rim glass, then top with a splash of lime seltzer for fizz. Prosecco also works if you prefer bubbles with more body. Either way, it’s delicious.
Try it and experiment with flavors.
