Usually once a week, Mr. How Sweet and I make homemade pizza for dinner.
Sometimes we have it twice in a week, and then we skip it for a month because we get tired of it. Such is life.
We disagree on two things: how much sauce and how much meat to use.
I’m not a fan of lots of tomato sauce, and I dislike pepperoni, sausage, or any meat that doesn’t resemble bacon. Mr. How Sweet, on the other hand, loves generous amounts of sauce and loads of pepperoni.
Another practical reason I always make two pizzas is that he can finish an entire pizza by himself, even on nights he insists he’s “not hungry.”
I didn’t take a photo of the empty pan—an empty pizza pan is not exactly thrilling—but trust me, he was not that hungry.
Enter the white pizza.
Growing up, my parents always ordered a white pizza. I used to hate it because it often came overloaded with tomatoes and vegetables. I still pick the veggies off, but nowadays I’m more relaxed about it.
In fact, I might have some for breakfast.
See? I still leave large spots of plain cheese without tomatoes since I will most likely pick off all vegetables. I’m four years old.

-
Combine the whole wheat flour, salt, and yeast in a large bowl. Add lukewarm water, honey, and olive oil, stirring with a spoon to bring the dough together. After rising, punch the dough down, shape it back into a ball, and let it rest for 30 minutes.

On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough very thin, add your toppings, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

What are your favorite pizza toppings? Mine would be bacon, arugula, and a ridiculous number of cheeses. Life is good.
