Finally! Check out my RECIPE INDEX. 🙂
Over a week ago my husband brought home three pounds of kiwis, and for a while my craving for them was completely satisfied.
The day he came in with the fruit I was craving a sweet, milkshake-like smoothie. That was before we were hit with a major snowstorm and spent days without heat.
Now, chilly as it is, I get nervous just looking at anything icy. Still, this smoothie was delicious when I made it.

Once the weather warms up and our fingers and toes stop tingling, this will be one of the first things I make again.
The smoothie is fat-free and provides a good amount of protein on its own; add a scoop of protein powder if you want an extra boost.

Strawberry-Kiwi Smoothie
Ingredients:
– 1/2 cup skim or almond milk
– 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
– 1/2 cup chopped strawberries
– 2 kiwis, peeled and chopped
– 1 teaspoon honey
– 1 teaspoon orange zest
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions: Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth. Garnish with extra strawberries and kiwi if desired.

Until the sun returns, I’ll be living in my Uggs, which at the moment might as well be called Uggsicles.
What’s your favorite smoothie? I’m always a fan of any shake with a frozen banana.
Have a great day, friends — peace out from my igloo.
