These cheddar ranch chicken fingers are a ranch lover’s dream. A crunchy breadcrumb coating with crushed cheddar crackers and ranch seasoning gives the tenders big flavor. Serve with extra ranch for dipping to make them irresistible.
A generous plate of chicken fingers is on the menu today.

Perfect for a casual weeknight or a relaxed weekend meal.
These tenders are coated in a crunchy breadcrumb mixture that’s amped up with homemade ranch seasoning and crispy crushed cheddar crackers. They bake until the exterior is golden and crunchy while the inside stays tender and juicy.
Of course, we serve them with ranch for dipping — because ranch is everything here.

I make these often because they’re a family favorite. My kids love chicken fingers, and honestly, so do we. Before kids, we were already making versions of this recipe, and now a big salad topped with chopped chicken fingers is a regular dinner at our house.

Time for cheddar ranch chicken fingers — and yes, these are all about the ranch.
The breadcrumb mix is seasoned heavily with ranch-inspired spices and folded together with crushed Cheez-Its or similar cheddar crackers. Then the chicken gets dipped in buttermilk ranch-style coating and baked. Ranch in the coating and ranch for the dip means double the ranch flavor in every bite.

Yes, we crush cheddar crackers into the breadcrumb mixture — and it’s genius. The cheddar adds a savory depth that makes these chicken fingers stand out.

The method is simple and reliable: bread the chicken, bake it on a wire rack set over a sheet pan for even heat and crispness, and mist the pieces with oil so they develop a golden exterior. Flip once during baking for consistent browning.
That’s it — crispy baked chicken tenders that you can make anytime. Use the basic version or add extra spices to dial up the flavor.

Favorite dips: my homemade ranch dressing is an obvious match, and it’s flexible — use fresh or dried herbs and swap in Greek yogurt or sour cream as needed. Another fantastic option is a house sauce that’s creamy and a little sweet, similar in spirit to popular fast-food dipping sauces.
Good side dishes to pair with these tenders include roasted or steamed vegetables, crispy potatoes, slaws, or a simple salad — anything that balances the rich, savory chicken fingers.

Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken tenders
- kosher salt and pepper
- 1 ½ cups breadcrumbs
- ½ cup crushed cheddar crackers or Cheez-Its
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried chives
- ½ teaspoon dried dill
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- ranch dressing, for serving
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and set a wire rack on top. Spray the rack lightly with nonstick spray.
-
Season the chicken tenders with kosher salt and pepper. In a bowl combine the breadcrumbs, crushed cheddar crackers, garlic powder, dried chives and dried dill.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs until lightly beaten.
-
Dip each tender in the egg, then press into the breadcrumb mixture so the coating adheres. Place breaded tenders on the prepared rack. When all tenders are coated, mist them with avocado or olive oil spray to encourage browning.
-
Bake for 12 minutes, flip each tender gently, mist the other side with oil spray, then bake an additional 10 to 12 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
-
Let rest briefly, then serve warm with ranch dressing for dipping.
