Summer Fridays Vol. 7: Summer Playlist & New Tracks

summer fridays

Hello summer Friday!

EATING

I’m loving bright, seasonal meals right now. Marinated tomato BLTs are a must—juicy tomatoes and crisp bacon make a perfect summer sandwich. The shrimp chopped Caesar is another go-to: cool, satisfying and perfect for warm evenings. I also can’t get enough of the street corn grilled cheese for an indulgent twist on a classic, and bruschetta chicken is a favorite when tomatoes are at their peak.

DRINKING

Cucumber mint margaritas are the ultimate refreshment this time of year. Light, herbaceous and cold, they’re ideal for patio evenings, poolside sipping or serving at casual get-togethers.

MAKING

For a showstopping brunch or a simple dinner, a savory herb Dutch baby topped with roasted tomatoes is incredible. It’s elegant but easy to prepare, and it highlights summer herbs and ripe tomatoes beautifully.

BAKING

In the baking department I’m reaching for blueberry zucchini muffins with lemon glaze for a tender, bright treat, and my blueberry peach coffee cake is absolutely divine when peaches are in season. Both are great for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

CRAVING

I keep craving an heirloom tomato salad with buttermilk ranch—so fresh and vibrant. Grilled goat cheese–stuffed zucchini is another obsession; give me all the summer produce, especially when it’s simply prepared to let the flavors shine.

GRILLING

Grilled jalapeño peach chicken is a standout at the grill—sweet, spicy and perfectly charred. I also love grilling garden vegetables and serving them with garlic toast for a simple, flavorful summer meal that pairs well with almost anything.

PREPPING

For easy lunches I like to make grilled veggie orzo, which holds up well in the fridge and tastes great cold or warmed. I also prep smashed chickpea salad for quick sandwiches or salad bowls throughout the week.

SNACKING

Grilled shishito peppers with a squeeze of lemon are a simple, addictive snack. I’m also into white chocolate raspberry granola for a sweet-salty crunch that’s perfect with yogurt or just by the handful.

LISTENING

I’ve been playing the best summer pool nights playlist—perfect for evening swims and long, slow nights outdoors. It sets the mood for relaxed summer evenings and low-key entertaining.

READING

My big summer reading list is ready for lazy afternoons and beach days. It’s a mix of page-turners and thoughtful reads that pair perfectly with iced coffee or a chilled glass of wine.

WRITING

I’ve been sharing tips on making last-minute summer gatherings come together easily and ideas for a capsule kitchen that keep essentials on hand without clutter. These practical pieces are great for hosting without stress.

WEARING

I’m obsessed with a double-lined tank that I own in almost every color—light, cool and flattering for summer. Paired with breathable linen pants, it makes an effortless outfit that looks pulled together even on the hottest days.

LOVING

I can’t get enough of the new e. frances stationery pieces this season. The mini garden calendar, cheese notes and chunky notepad are all delightful touches for the kitchen or office and make great little gifts.

SHOPPING

I love a matching set in emerald cove—pants and a shell in soft cotton that look polished while staying comfortable. There’s also a similar gap set I reach for constantly when I want an easy, cohesive outfit.

SHARING

One of my favorite roundups right now is a collection of 20 summer dinners I make on repeat. These are reliable, flavorful weeknight meals that work well when the weather is warm and schedules are busy.

BUYING

I recently ordered new summer pajamas and the pants-and-tank set I picked is my favorite for warm nights. I also love a breezy modal shorts set for lazy days at home and quick errands.

PREPARING

I’m getting a few back-to-school items together early so I don’t have to worry about them later. Having supplies on hand makes the transition smoother, and I like to be prepared so the first busy weeks of the school year feel easier.
