These queso hot dogs are a playful summer twist on the classic. Grilled hot dogs topped with warm, melty queso, jalapeños, tomatoes, scallions and crushed tortilla chips make an easy, crowd-pleasing dinner.
Sweet summertime!

These queso hot dogs are a summer dream: grilled dogs in toasted buns finished with a drizzle of warm queso, chopped cherry tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, scallions and a generous sprinkle of crushed tortilla chips for crunch.
Wowza!

I’m a huge hot dog fan — especially in summer. If I get the chance for another, I’ll go all out with a hot dog bar: every topping, lots of cheese, and a relaxed, festive vibe.

Hot dogs. All the toppings. Lots of cheese.

It feels a little funny to call a hot dog a “recipe” — but when you dress it up like this, it becomes its own celebratory meal. Grill the dogs, toast the buns, have warm queso ready to drizzle, then pile on jalapeños, tomatoes, scallions and crushed tortilla chips.
Yum yum yum.

This is embarrassingly easy and a lot of fun. I often use my classic queso recipe and keep it warm in a small slow cooker so it’s ready to drizzle as soon as the hot dogs come off the grill. That way guests can spoon queso over their dogs, buns or even tortilla chips on the side.

And if you’re short on time, store-bought queso works well — heat it and serve. Either way, the combination of melty cheese, fresh vegetables and crunchy chips is irresistible.
Who can resist these?!
