Since so many of you loved our wedding cake yesterday, I wanted to share one more detail.
We set up a separate cookie room — more of a dedicated dessert room, really.
I’ve heard people say that cookie tables or rooms are a Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania tradition. What do you think? Have you been to a wedding that served both a cake and a variety of cookies?

Here’s Mother Lovett, sneaking into the cookie room before guests were invited in. She always wanted to know what was happening—and she probably couldn’t resist inspecting every single cookie before putting the tray back.

We had cookies for days. Weeks, even. My mom still likely has some tucked away in the freezer that she’ll deem perfect for Christmas. Would you like a side of freezer burn with that cookie?

Uh oh—Mother Lovett is back, this time with another guest in tow. She must have missed a cookie or two to taste. Don’t worry — I’m pretty sure this was before our friend Barb spent 90 minutes in the restroom helping her with her girdle.
