Welcome back to Summer Fridays, the best kind of Friday there is!
EATING
After an amazing seafood-filled trip to Nantucket, I’m craving more of the same. I’m planning another lobster grilled cheese and especially a summer shrimp-and-charred-corn carbonara—both perfect for late-summer meals and inspired by everything I ate on the island.
MAKING
On the menu this weekend: my white clam sauce pizza with chili oil. It’s one of those recipes I live for and always want to make again and again.
SIPPING
I’m definitely mixing up an orange crush this weekend—I’ve been craving one and will probably work on it tonight. I might try a grapefruit crush too, since you all always mention them. I’ll also make a pitcher of strawberry summer water tomorrow morning; it’s my go-to for light, fruity hydration.
PREPPING
After indulging in Nantucket, I’m leaning toward healthier staples. I’ll be making overnight oats from The Pretty Dish and a blueberry peach chia pudding. I’m stockpiling ingredients for shaved egg avocado toast, a slow-roasted tomato farro salad, and my favorite Greek salad in a jar. Grilled broccoli salad is on repeat right now—it’s fantastic—along with more veg-and-halloumi skewers. I’ll also make a batch of lavender vanilla syrup for lattes, because summer deserves something special.
BAKING
I’m thinking about baking lavender banana bread, maybe turning the batter into muffins. I love that recipe and it makes for a delicious, fragrant bake that’s perfect with coffee.
READING
I’m eagerly waiting for Elin’s new book to come out on Tuesday, but I started Mrs Everything on the trip home from Nantucket. While there I finished The Mother-in-Law and had mixed feelings: I liked the story and the ending but wanted something lighter and beachier. I don’t typically read mystery or suspense, so it felt a bit different than what I usually reach for. What are you reading this week? I’ve been thinking about a summer reading list and have a few titles in rotation.
SMELLING
I discovered a Tan Lines candle and I’m completely in love with it. I found it at a local shop and the scent is unforgettable. The Coconut Milk and Cream candle is also outstanding—these are two new favorites I’m thrilled to have found.
LISTENING
I’ve been listening to a Father’s Day–inspired playlist this week as we plan a fun weekend for Eddie. It’s a mellow mix that’s been on repeat while I prep and cook.
SEARCHING
I’m on the hunt for the perfect card case. I want something sleek and slim that I can toss in a pocket or find easily in my bag. My old card case lasted seven years before ripping, so I’m ready for a new, durable pick. No folding wallets—just a classic, slim card case. Hit me with your recommendations.
LIVING
I’ve been living in a set of soft workout tanks from Target. They’re not strictly workout wear, but the fabric and cut are so comfortable that I wear them for running errands and everyday casual moments. I have a couple in black and a few in other colors—they’ve been my go-to for easy outfits that don’t require dressing up.
THINKING
I’m contemplating trying the celery juice trend—even though I genuinely dislike celery. After a rough upper respiratory infection that knocked me out for ten days, I’m tempted to add something more to my morning routine for immunity. I already use apple cider vinegar, turmeric, bee pollen, and ginger regularly, so celery juice seems like the next step. My plan would be to drink it right after a workout, so I can get it over with. I’d prefer not to juice myself every day, so I’m wondering if there’s an easy option to buy pre-made. For now, I’m sticking with my immunity-boosting smoothie on repeat as I recover.

The color of this water is life.
