Easiest recipe ever.
Not really a recipe—just a simple method.
So easy, delicious, economical and healthy that I had to share.
After last night’s indulgent dinner, a lighter snack felt necessary.
I’m just glad we survived the feast without any health scares.
Have you ever made homemade bagel chips? They are incredibly easy.
I used whole wheat bagels here, though cinnamon or asiago bagels would be even more flavorful.
It helps if the bagels are slightly stale. Slice them thin, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt—or use any seasoning you prefer.
Simple Bagel Chips
Ingredients:
2 large whole wheat bagels or 4 mini whole wheat bagels
1 tablespoon olive oil
Sea salt (to taste)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Slice the bagels into thin rounds. Use all pieces, even halves and broken edges.
Lightly brush each slice with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt or your preferred seasoning.
Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake 8–10 minutes, watching closely since ovens vary. Bake until crisp and golden.
Let cool briefly before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container to keep them crisp.
I struggled to capture a perfect photo of the thin crisps—blame the butter, if you must.
From now on, I’ll blame the butter for everything.
