Juicy Peach Margarita Recipe: Refreshing Summer Cocktail Guide

It’s official.

I’ve become picky about margaritas—I won’t settle for the ordinary. Skip the neon-green slush and make a proper cocktail instead: a juicy peach margarita. It’s simple, refreshing and far superior to anything served from a tanker-sized dispenser.

Seriously, you’ll want to make this.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Grand Marnier
  • 1 1/2 ounces Tequila
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • 2 1/2 ounces peach simple syrup
  • lime + chopped peaches for garnish
  • salt + sugar for the rim

Instructions

  • Rim your glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim in a mixture of margarita salt and sugar (about 3 tablespoons salt to 2 teaspoons sugar is a good starting point). Fill the glass with ice. In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Grand Marnier, peach simple syrup and lime juice with ice. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds, then strain into the prepared glass over ice. Garnish with lime slices and a few chunks of fresh peach.
  • Peach simple syrup: Combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan, bring to a boil and stir until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Blend 1 cup of the cooled simple syrup with 3 peeled, chopped peaches until smooth. This yields enough peach syrup for several margaritas—adjust amounts to taste.
  • This recipe scales easily—double or quadruple to make a pitcher. Because sweetness preferences vary, add the peach syrup in 1/4-cup increments until the balance of tart and sweet suits your palate. If making multiple drinks, consider using bottled lime juice to save time instead of squeezing many fresh limes.
