Happy summer Friday! Here’s what I’m into this weekend.
EATING
I can’t get enough of my green bean crunch salad and the triple melon salad — both are light, refreshing, and perfect for warm days. I’ve also been making chimichurri grilled chicken on repeat (Eddie’s favorite) and a black pepper balsamic strawberry pasta salad that’s bright and unexpected.
DRINKING
Sparkling cocktails are calling my name this week. I’m loving a sparkling rosé Aperol spritz with frozen peaches, and a sparkling rosé Pimm’s cup is always a lovely summer sipper.
MAKING
The lemon chicken pasta salad has been a go-to — it’s tangy, satisfying, and great for make-ahead meals.
BAKING
The Greek yogurt lemon loaf is a hit with the kids and makes a wonderful breakfast or snack with a bright citrus flavor and tender crumb.
SNACKING
Granola scones have been my favorite recent share. They’re ideal for make-ahead breakfasts or on-the-go snacks and keep well, which is so useful during busy weeks.
CRAVING
I keep dreaming about grilled peach pizza with corn and chili garlic sauce — it’s a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. I made another peach pizza recently that I can’t wait to share; it turned out amazing.
GRILLING
We’ve been grilling nonstop for dinner because it’s easy, cleanup is minimal, and it’s nice when everything can be done in one place. I’ve made gorgonzola potatoes, goat cheese–stuffed grilled zucchini, and a charred corn with prosciutto and arugula salad — the last one works beautifully as a summer house salad.
READING
I’m starting Vacationland by Meg Mitchell Moore and revisiting my summer reading list to see what else to add. It’s a great time for easy, immersive books that travel well or pair nicely with a patio afternoon.
LISTENING
There’s a new summer playlist I’ve been playing on repeat — upbeat, fun, and perfect for warm nights.
WEARING
I’m loving an easy breezy white coverup that feels like a lightweight button-down — simple, airy, and ideal for throwing over a suit. I’m also obsessed with neon pink slides that are surprisingly comfortable; the supportive footbed makes them easy to walk in, and the pop of color is fun.
LOVING
I can’t get over how much I adore my friend Bridget’s artwork. Her heart pieces bring such joy and color to a room, and her studio is filling up with beautiful, playful work.
SHOPPING
This week Max got a cut on his face that needed stitches and broke his sunglasses, which reminded me how important it is to have practical, kid-friendly sun protection. We’ve been using a colorful nosecoat that’s great for covering scars and making sunscreen application more fun for kids.
TRAVELING
We aren’t going anywhere this week, but I wanted to share a few travel favorites I always bring along: a small portable fan that clips onto strollers or bikes, a lightweight cooler tote that’s easier to manage than a large hard cooler, and a smaller insulated bottle that’s great for yogurt and fruit on the go. These little items make day trips and outings with kids much simpler.
CELEBRATING
Nothing huge to mark this week, but we’re heading to an amusement park today for a school picnic — and I somehow packed like we’re leaving for vacation. It should be a fun day of rides, snacks, and sunshine.
