I have a small problem: impatience.
Okay, that’s an understatement. It’s huge.
I blame growing up with the internet and getting used to everything instantly. Admitting you have a problem is the first step, right? So when I decided to riff on the original cookie dough dip with three new flavors, I planned to wait and share it later in the week as a little holiday surprise. I even had a few savory appetizers lined up to post first.

Instead of making a proper dinner, I found myself singing “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” on repeat until I perfected the whiny delivery. That song has been stuck in my head since Sunday. Then I mixed the three cookie dough dip varieties and, honestly, ate animal crackers and spoonfuls of dip for dinner.
I grew increasingly impatient, my finger hovering over the publish button by 8:45 at night. But patience pays off—sometimes you only need twelve hours.
First up: peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough dip.

Then a double chocolate fudge cookie dough dip.

And a creamy snickerdoodle cookie dough dip that actually tastes like snickerdoodle dough.

I can’t decide which I like best. Asking me my favorite song would probably get a faster answer.
Right now it’s definitely that hippo song.

I began by making a standard batch of the classic chocolate chip cookie dough dip and divided it into three equal portions. I gave the snickerdoodle a bit more because it doesn’t require add-ins like peanut butter or cocoa. Each final portion was about three-quarters of a cup.

The snickerdoodle version truly tastes like cookie dough spiced with cinnamon—I called it the best dip ever. The peanut butter version tastes exactly like peanut butter cookie dough, and the double chocolate is rich and fudgy. I’m torn between them, so here’s a better plan: you make all three, then tell me which wins. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.

So who’s getting me a hippopotamus for Christmas? I think that’s the only thing that will finally get the song out of my head.
