We love this cheeseburger puff pastry pizza! A super flaky, buttery crust is topped with all the classic cheeseburger flavors. It’s easy and comes together quickly.
Pizza Friday!

This cheeseburger puff pastry pizza is fantastic: browned ground beef mixed with ketchup and mustard, creamy house sauce, sharp cheddar, pickles, shredded lettuce, tomatoes and a crisp, flaky crust.
We can’t get enough of it.

If you enjoyed the cheeseburger soup last week, you’ll love this pizza too. It’s a playful mashup of two favorites: cheeseburgers and pizza.
My favorite. Truly.

I have a soft spot for cheeseburger-flavored dishes that aren’t actually burgers — they hit all the right notes and the kids always approve. (And yes, so do I.)

The secret that makes this taste like a cheeseburger is simple: stir ketchup and mustard into the cooked beef. It blends into the meat so it tastes burger-like without tasting strongly of either condiment. It’s the trick I use for any cheeseburger-inspired recipe.
Yes, really.
Puff pastry pizzas are one of my go-to quick meals. They’re effortless, ideal for weeknights and deliver that delicate, flaky crust that holds toppings perfectly — a bit like some favorite local pizzerias we adore.

This makes a speedy weekend snack or an easy weeknight dinner. Tons of texture, bright toppings and plenty of flavor, finished with a drizzle of house sauce. It’s irresistible.
You might even want to eat the house sauce with a spoon.

The sesame-seed crust is the finishing touch — it gives the pastry a burger-bun vibe that’s so satisfying.

A must-make!

Ingredients
- ½ pound lean ground beef
- Kosher salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 3 tablespoons house sauce, plus more for drizzling
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar, freshly grated
- 1 large egg + 1 teaspoon water (for egg wash)
- 1 to 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- Shredded lettuce, for topping
- Chopped tomatoes, for topping
- Chopped pickles, for topping
House Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon your favorite BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Heat a large skillet over medium. Add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Brown, breaking it into small crumbles. Stir in the ketchup and mustard until combined. Turn off the heat and stir in an ounce or two of cheese.
- Place parchment paper on a baking sheet and lay the puff pastry on top. Poke the pastry all over with a fork to prevent excessive bubbling.
- Spread 3 tablespoons of the house sauce over the puff pastry, leaving a border for the crust. Sprinkle a little cheese over the sauce, then evenly layer the ground beef. Drizzle with more house sauce.
- Top with the remaining cheese. Brush the border with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake 20–25 minutes, until the puff pastry is golden and puffed. Remove from the oven and top with shredded lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. Slice and serve.
House Sauce
- Whisk all house sauce ingredients together until smooth. Make ahead if desired.
