Summer Fridays Vol. 13: New Music Picks & Featured Tracks

summer fridays

It’s our last Summer Fridays post of 2021 — this season flew by. Thank you for spending these summer weekends with me!

EATING

I’ve been loving crispy buffalo cauliflower topped with smoked blue cheese and avocado. The combination is one of my favorites and makes a great appetizer or snack.

DRINKING

I’m already sliding into fall cocktails. My red apple cider sangria is a go-to, and I also love an apple cider prosecco spritz and my September sangria. For a seasonal caffeine treat, try a pumpkin coconut cream cold brew.

BAKING

A batch of almond butter baked oatmeal with sticky figs has been on repeat. It’s a fantastic breakfast that almost tastes like dessert.

MAKING

I’ve been making a nutty Honeycrisp harvest salad — a lovely mix of textures and fall flavors that’s perfect for weeknight meals or entertaining.

GRILLING

I’m excited to grill autumn vegetables and serve them with a white bean dip. It’s a great way to extend grilling season into cooler months.

CRAVING

My favorite September kale salad keeps calling my name. It’s bright, hearty, and full of fall flavors — definitely one to make again and again.

LISTENING

We’ve been playing the tailgating playlist we put together a few years ago — it’s perfect background music for an easy weekend or a casual cookout.

READING

I can’t wait to get a copy of Beautiful World, Where Are You when it’s released on the 7th. I’m excited to dive in — what are you reading right now? I’m also sharing a few copies of Everyday Dinners and some favorite novels on Instagram.

SHOPPING

I’m tempted to try a pair of WSLY sweats — they seem ideal for early school drop-offs and everyday comfortable wear.

LOVING

I’m loving the Food52 silicone spoons — they’re durable, flexible, and work with almost every dish you make in the kitchen.

SHARING

I’ve rounded up back-to-school meals that are lifesavers for busy weeknights. Even if you aren’t headed back to school, there’s plenty of inspiration in that post for simple, satisfying dinners.

BEGINNING

Next week brings a new routine: school starts on Monday and I’m feeling all the emotions. Emilia is starting preschool and it feels like a big milestone. I’m looking forward to this new season of being a mom and sharing in all the school-year moments.
