Cookies and Cream Krispy Treats Recipe for Irresistible No-Bake Bars

We love Rice Krispy treats in this house. They’re one of those nostalgic, irresistible desserts that disappear in an instant — last time I made a pan, it was gone before the bars even cooled.

My husband, Mr. How Sweet, is especially fond of them. Rice Krispy treats are his comfort food; he can’t get enough. I’m always eager to try creative, more chocolate-forward versions of classic sweets, so I was thrilled when I discovered this cookies-and-cream twist on the traditional recipe.

This idea originally came from Picky Palate. Jenny’s recipes are clever, simple, and often deliciously indulgent — which I firmly consider a win. The cookies-and-cream version is a playful update that adds texture and chocolate to a vintage favorite. Who doesn’t love cookies and cream?

  1. In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and immediately stir in the Rice Krispies cereal and the chopped Oreos, making sure everything is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Allow to cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, melt chocolate chips and drizzle the chocolate over the bars. Let the chocolate set, then cut into squares and serve.
