Will you still love me if I do this?

How about this?

I’m guessing you’ll forgive me—especially after you enjoyed some of my other indulgent treats. I appreciate that unconditional crush we’ve got going on.
Believe it or not, despite today’s title, I actually have plenty of healthy meals to share. We eat them most of the time. But I can’t stop creating recipes like this one.

There’s something undeniably satisfying about a recipe that feels a little sinful. These chewy peanut butter cookies studded with chocolate-covered candied bacon taste like they shouldn’t be allowed — and yet they’re impossible to resist. They’re the kind of snack that blends sweet and salty into something spectacular, and yes, a little weird to some. But don’t fight the chocolate bacon. Just give in.
Don’t ask me where my brain comes up with these mash-ups. I food-experiment the way others breathe. It’s messy, it’s delightful, and sometimes it’s pure torture to resist tasting along the way.
Recipes like this beat the green stuff in sheer joyful decadence. That’s my argument, and I stand by it.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 slices cinnamon-sugared candied bacon
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips, melted
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Dip the candied bacon slices in melted chocolate and let them come to room temperature while you prepare the dough. If needed, chill briefly so the chocolate sets.
-
Cream the butter, peanut butter, and both sugars in an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt; mix until just incorporated and a dough forms. Crumble the chocolate-covered bacon and fold it into the dough. Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto a baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers remain chewy.
