I’m a huge fan of overnight oats: I love the texture and the chilled bite (I usually let them sit out for 20–30 minutes before digging in). The best part is the toppings — nuts, chia seeds, hemp hearts, fresh fruit, or a drizzle of honey or maple syrup make every jar feel special.

Because these use leftover cranberry sauce, I skip extra sweeteners. I recommend using a rich dark chocolate — at least 70% cocoa — so you get deep cocoa flavor without excess sweetness.

This jar is my ideal balance: creamy and chewy oats, tart cranberry, a touch of dark chocolate, and crunchy toppings. What more could you ask for?

P.S. welcome to Thanksgiving leftover central. If you’re prepping these oats on Thanksgiving evening, you’re already set for an easy breakfast. I also love leftover breakfast biscuits and mashed potato waffles. Turkey and dumplings or a cheesy turkey tortilla soup are great for later in the weekend. There’s also a leftover cranberry sauce Greek yogurt coffee cake and a roasted turkey potato chip BLAT — plenty of ways to enjoy leftovers.
