Hello! I’m adding a bit of casual chatter to these weekend posts along with my favorite links. I realize I already ramble all week, and now there’s more rambling—sorry, not sorry. I’ll share a little about our weekends and life here when it feels relevant. Not a ton; you can still find the usual lifestyle posts over on crumbs. We’ll see how it goes. We just returned from vacation and shot a lot of video—hopefully a good portion of it is usable. I’d love to share it with you soon.

I have another cooking demo/class at Crate focusing on quick, easy meals for the changing season on August 20. You get to eat while I inevitably make a fool of myself (this usually happens) and feel slightly awkward. A few spots remain and you can sign up on their site.

Later today and tomorrow I’ll post my monthly favorites. No, I didn’t forget you. And yes, more baby updates are coming soon—I just need to find the time. Should I hire a blog helper? Maybe.

As usual you can follow our weekend adventures on Instagram (currently: vacation overload). If you missed my posts elsewhere, I’ve been on Snapchat too—apparently “snapchatting” is a verb now. It’s weird but oddly fun. My Snapchat username is howsweeteats.

Here are the things I’m excited about this week. I am endlessly grateful for the internet.

I still dream about my microwave nacho days.

This ice cream pie with a peanut butter Rice Krispie crust is making me feel all the feelings. How is this even real?

The universe should absolutely make half-birthdays a thing, especially when there’s a cinnamon-sugar chocolate chip bundt cake involved. I’m actually doing that today.

If I had any crafty tendencies, I would make these DIY graphic beach towels—maybe a unicorn design.

Have you tried Luxardo cherries? I’m planning to make homemade maraschino-style cherries soon.

This warm pointed cabbage salad with lemon-garlic cashew dressing makes me want to grow cabbage next year.

Not that anyone doubts my love for corn, but I’m ready to elevate it with charred corn tossed in miso butter and bacon. Yes, please.

I spotted a seared halloumi, cherry and peach salad on Instagram while on vacation and have been craving it ever since—the flavors are everything.

Another recipe I’m definitely making this weekend (Sunday, probably with wine) is roasted tomato and garlic pasta. Look at those cloves.

Cold soups rarely call to me, but this chilled cream of basil with a corn-cucumber salad sounds dreamy.

So what are you up to this blazing-hot weekend? Besides making margarita popsicles, of course?
