Currently Crushing On: What I’m Loving Now and Why

Hello weekend.

I usually don’t rush the pumpkin season — I wait until autumn is official, typically toward the end of September. But this year the air feels different. It’s already so chilly here that I’ve started decorating for fall, experimenting with recipes that feel like Thanksgiving, and craving all things pumpkin. I’m amused at myself, but I’m enjoying it.

I hope you have a lovely weekend. If you’re in Irma’s path, please stay safe. xoxo

p.s. I shared a recap of our trip to Maine earlier this week.

Favorites of the week:

Craving this arugula pesto zoodle bowl — bright, fresh, and perfect for using summer greens.

Melty baked brie with honey and figs — always a winner when cheese is involved.

A plate of Carolina-style ribs that I want to devour — savory and deeply satisfying.

That concord grape blackberry fizz — an exciting, fruity cocktail that I can’t stop thinking about.

DIY frosé juice pouches — a fun idea to save for next year’s warm-weather gatherings.

Coconut ginger ice cream with plantain chips — sounds like a dreamy, tropical dessert.

Grilled tomatillo salsa — smoky, tangy, and a perfect complement to chips or grilled meats.

I’ll take one of those healthy taco bowls — balanced, colorful, and filling.

Buckeye bark — rich, nutty, and dangerously moreish; I could eat the whole pan.

Zucchini lasagna with ricotta — a lighter twist on a classic that still delivers comfort.

Creamy chicken gnocchi soup — pure comfort food for chilly nights.

Caprese egg breakfast cups — a simple, tasty way to start the morning.

A pretty butternut squash quinoa salad — seasonal, vibrant, and nutritious.
