Welcome to the first “Crushing On” post of 2018. I hope you’re staying warm — it’s been frigid here and we’ve been hibernating indoors. Between the bitter cold and a lingering holiday bug, it feels like I haven’t left the house in weeks. On the bright side, being stuck inside has made us productive (though yes, the Christmas decor is still up). I am definitely ready to get outside again.
Earlier this week I posted a day in the life, and if you missed them I also shared my end-of-year beauty favorites and lifestyle favorites. Lots of you asked about my recipe disasters — they go up every year the day after Christmas, and you can find them there.
We’re also counting down the weeks until The Pretty Dish is out. If you haven’t preordereda copy yet, it would mean so much to me.
Favorites this week:
- I definitely want to try this Indian butter chicken.
- 31 healthy lunches — I always struggle with lunch ideas.
- I’m loving this roasted cauliflower hummus.
- Creamy cashew gingersnap lattes — perfect for this cold weather.
- This sweet potato shepherd’s pie looks so comforting.
- Five superfoods to eat in 2018 — interesting picks to keep in mind.
- That supreme pizza quiche looks like everything I want and more.
- This chocolate walnut smoothie sounds incredible.
- A lovely carrot ginger soup that’s soothing and bright.
- A broccoli salad with honey-mustard vinaigrette — maybe I can actually make this.
- How pretty is this jasmine pudding? Such a simple, elegant dessert.
- Wild mushroom ragout — totally our kind of dish.
- Stunning Earl Grey chocolate mousse tartlets — beautiful and decadent.
Hope you find something here that sparks your appetite or inspires your week. Stay warm and enjoy experimenting in the kitchen!
