It was a hectic week and I am so glad the weekend is finally here. I’m looking forward to visiting a pumpkin patch, making pumpkin pancakes and maybe trying a pumpkin beer. We’ll do some fall decorating — by “we” I mean I’ll put up a bunch of things Eddie isn’t thrilled about, then convince him to help plant mums. So much fun.

Later this weekend I’ll share our nine-month baby favorites and some of my current beauty favorites. I also contributed a chocolate chunk zucchini loaf that I shared on another site — yes, it’s vegetables in chocolate cake with chocolate chunks, which absolutely counts as healthy food.

Here are the internet finds I loved this week:

I can’t get over this thoughtful post about cherishing your girlfriends — the comments are worth reading too.

Four words: DIY Lisa Frank costumes. Incredible throwback energy.

Intriguing and unexpected: olive oil ice cream sandwiches. Definitely worth trying.

Fall, you’ve arrived with this chipotle apple sweet potato salad, and I’m very glad.

It’s the weekend, which means brunch — and tequila sunrise fits the bill perfectly.

Planning game-day food? Here are 20 healthy game day recipes to round out your spread.

Buttered rum and candied sweet potato crumb cake — I’m deep into a coffee cake phase and need this immediately.

On the dinner list this week: a deconstructed falafel salad. So much flavor.

Have you seen this gluten-free cookbook for beginners? I adore Kristin and her book looks thoughtfully put together.

Pumpkin brulee French toast sounds over-the-top in the best way; the whipped sour cream is what sells it for me.

And if you need convincing to eat more broccoli, try stuffing it into a twice-baked potato loaded with cheddar. Comfort food wins.
