What you’ll need:

  • Felt in a taco shell color
  • Small brown pom-poms
  • Green paper crinkles (or thin green paper)
  • Red scrapbook paper
  • Hot glue gun
  • Bamboo skewers
  • Scissors

How-to:

1. Trace a circle onto the felt and cut it out. Poke a hole in the center of the felt circle using a bamboo skewer so the skewer can later be inserted cleanly.

2. Run a strip of hot glue down the middle of the felt circle. Press the brown pom-poms into the glue to create the look of taco meat. Add strips of hot glue on either side of the pom-poms and fold the felt over to form a taco shell around the filling. For extra volume, add another pom-pom to the bottom row.

3. Trim the green paper crinkles into small pieces to mimic lettuce. Attach them to the pom-poms with small dots of hot glue. Cut tiny tomato shapes from the red scrapbook paper and glue those in place as well.

4. Put a small dab of hot glue on the pointy end of the skewer and insert it into the hole in the felt taco. Trim the skewer length to suit the glasses you’ll use.

5. Repeat the process until each guest has a taco stirrer in their glass. Pop one into a margarita or any favorite drink and enjoy.

These tiny taco stirrers are a playful, charming detail for parties, simple to make, and a fun way to celebrate with friends and family. Have fun crafting—and cheers!
