Are we ready for harvest party time?

I’m so excited that Thanksgiving is only a week away. I can’t wait to be back in the kitchen, but mostly I’m thrilled to eat a big, delicious meal and enjoy all my favorite seasonal flavors together.
Of course, Thanksgiving punch is invited to the party!

It’s been just over ten days since Emilia arrived and I still haven’t had a proper cocktail. Sleep deprivation has kept me from it so far, but I’m thinking Thanksgiving will be the day. Now I have so many cocktails to choose from.

Also — I’m pretty sure this will be my last punch recipe of the season. So many holiday options!

Let me tell you about these harvest-inspired flavors.
This punch uses both pomegranate and blood orange Italian sodas; you should be able to find these near specialty sodas at the grocery store. It also features apple cider — I still can’t get enough of it and it really screams Thanksgiving.

The boozy trio here is bourbon, orange liqueur and apple brandy — all three come together for a warm, layered flavor. Add a variety of fresh sliced fruits and a handful of cinnamon sticks, and the punch takes on a sangria-like feel that’s festive and inviting.
I’m absolutely obsessed.

If you’re wondering about a non-alcoholic version: because this recipe combines several spirits, I’d recommend choosing a mocktail specifically designed to be non-alcoholic. Two favorites that capture similar seasonal notes are a sparkling pomegranate cider punch or a cranberry cider punch.
In my view this punch makes a lovely welcome cocktail for your Thanksgiving gathering, though a small glass during dinner wouldn’t hurt either. It’s the kind of drink you can sip on throughout the day.

- 2 apples sliced
- 2 pears sliced
- 2 oranges sliced
- a handful of cinnamon sticks

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Taste and adjust to preference: add more apple cider if it tastes too strong, or more bourbon if you want it boozier. The balance is up to you. The punch can be made a bit ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator until serving.
