This is the pink peppermint cocktail you need this holiday season!

While I love peppermint, there’s something about pink peppermint that feels extra festive — sweet, nostalgic and a little like a marshmallow dream. This cocktail captures that vibe perfectly.

Here’s what’s in it: candy cane vodka, homemade vanilla simple syrup, white crème de cacao and a small splash of cream or half-and-half. A candy cane makes a festive garnish. The candy cane vodka gives the drink its pretty pink hue and peppermint flavor — it’s easy to make and only needs about 30 minutes to infuse, not 24 hours.

I wanted this drink to be creamy without becoming a heavy, dessert-style cocktail. It’s not a milkshake or boozy ice cream — it’s light, shaken with ice and served over crushed ice so it’s refreshing and smooth.

Tip: you can substitute a small amount of flavored creamer — coconut or almond creamer can work — though they may separate slightly. Just give the cocktail a vigorous shake before serving for a pretty first-pour presentation.

Weekend entertaining plan: play festive music, serve in frosted glasses, rim the glass with sparkling sugar or crushed candy cane, top with a crushed candy cane and hand them out to friends. Instant holiday showstopper.
