This peppermint popcorn is festive and fun: popcorn drizzled with white chocolate, topped with crunchy peppermint and tossed with marshmallows. It’s an ideal snack for the holiday season!
Holiday week just got sweeter — and snackier.

I can already picture the weeks ahead filled with snacks, and how in a couple of weeks I’ll be craving “a real meal.” For now, though: peppermint popcorn, pink sprinkles and candy cane crunch.
A generous white chocolate drizzle finishes it off.
If you prefer, try a milk or dark chocolate drizzle instead — any of them are delicious.

This is the perfect couch snack while watching holiday movies like Christmas Vacation, The Holiday, The Family Stone or Four Christmases. Home Alone (one and two) is a favorite in our house too.
Grab a bowl of this popcorn, a mug of hot chocolate, and settle in.

Lately our house has gone pro-popcorn. I used to be “meh” on popcorn — not something I craved — but once I start, I can’t stop. Over the past few years it’s become a go-to, and now my kids love it too.
Growing up my dad made popcorn on the stove in a big pot with oil, no microwave. He didn’t use salt or butter, so my kids needed convincing, but popcorn has always been a family snack. I often use the classic stovetop method and like coconut oil in the pot, but you can use whatever you have on hand. If you’re in a hurry, microwave popcorn works fine — then dress it up with the toppings below.

This recipe is simple and flexible, so you can adapt it to your tastes and what’s available in your pantry.

How to make it:
- Pop 8 to 10 cups of popcorn. If you like, you can drizzle a little butter, but it’s not necessary.
- Drizzle melted white chocolate (about 6 ounces). Milk or dark chocolate can be used instead if you prefer.
- Sprinkle with a pinch of kosher salt and add pink sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Top with about ½ cup crushed candy canes or peppermint baking chips, or use both for extra peppermint flavor.
- Fold in a couple big handfuls of mini marshmallows for chew and whimsy — plain mini marshmallows or colored peppermint marshmallows both work well.
- Serve immediately with hot chocolate, sparkling wine, or your favorite holiday beverage. Cozy up with a blanket and a movie and enjoy.

Your holiday snacking plans are set — enjoy!
