I had a perfect shopping day today. For me, that means finding items I’ve been wanting for months. For Mr. How Sweet, it means I probably spent too much.
Oh well — everything will be put to good use, and he’ll benefit from most of it.
I can’t wait to snack on…

Absolutely addicting. I could eat my weight in these.

I don’t even have words. For weeks I could only find this almond butter in tiny packets that cost a fortune. This jar is pricey, too, but it’s worth it because I can dig in with a spoon. FYI — I don’t like other almond butters.

These are the best chocolate chips. They’re currently baking into chewy cookies, and I’ve already had multiple handfuls. I love them in yogurt, in peanut butter, and straight from the bag.
I can’t wait to cook with…

Figs! I love this season because they finally appear in stores. I’ll drive 45 minutes for them — they’re that good. I discovered fresh and dried figs about two years ago and it felt like a culinary revelation. I might even claim to love them more than chocolate (but not really).

Hopefully these peaches are juicy. Good peaches are hard to find around here, so I’m optimistic.

Yes — vegetables. The prettier they are, the more tempted I am to eat them. I plan to combine them with salt, feta, watermelon and oil, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I ended up picking out the vegetables and just eating the cheese and watermelon instead.

Has anyone tried this grain blend from Trader Joe’s? I’m not sure what I’ll make with it yet, but I’m hoping it helps wean Mr. How Sweet off his two-bags-of-brown-rice-a-day routine.
I also wanted to share a few more grocery staples I love.
Now I must tend to the cookies in the oven and the pizza dough that’s rising. Mr. How Sweet is in a trance watching the NASCAR race — which makes me want to barf, cry, and eat a lot of cookies.
Wild Saturday night we’ve got going on here.
