I can’t believe this is the final Summer Fridays post of the year — the season flew by. Like last year, I’m wrapping up Summer Fridays on Labor Day weekend. Thank you for an amazing summer. xo
EATING
My nutty harvest honeycrisp salad is back on my mind. Local farms are bringing in honeycrisps this week and I can’t wait. This is possibly my favorite salad of all time — crisp, crunchy, and full of fall flavor.
DRINKING
September sangria is the perfect bridge from late summer into early fall. It’s fruity, a little floral, and just right for the transition between seasons.
BAKING
The lemon pistachio zucchini cake is one of those treats that feels both indulgent and a little virtuous because it includes vegetables. Bright lemon and nutty pistachios make it a favorite this time of year.
GRILLING
Cinnamon sugar toast with figs and ricotta is a simple grilled treat that feels seasonal and a little decadent. It’s a great way to highlight late-summer figs.
MAKING
All the football food — think hearty dips, shareable bites, and game-day favorites. If you’re planning a tailgate or a cozy football-watching spread, build a menu of crowd-pleasing classics to keep everyone happy.
LISTENING
I’ve been listening to our tailgate playlist and it’s the perfect energetic soundtrack for the end of summer. It gets you in the mood for make-ahead dishes, backyard hangs, and game-day fun.
READING
I recently started Paperback Crush and it’s nostalgic in the best way — like revisiting my tween years. My standout read of the summer, though, was Mrs. Everything; the story has lingered with me. I loved revisiting emotional, character-driven novels this season.
SHOPPING
I’ve been eyeing wedge sneakers and debating whether I can actually pull them off. A few years ago I would’ve said no, but now I’m tempted. I also really want a leopard-print sweater blazer — a bold piece that’s great for transitioning into fall.
DECORATING
I’m planning to start fall decorating this weekend. I won’t go full pumpkin overload yet, but I’ll be putting up cozy touches and autumn accents to ease into the new season.
SHARING
There’s a new video for my easy lemon chicken noodle soup — a comforting, bright soup that’s ideal for cooler evenings ahead. It’s simple to make and perfect for feeding a family.
BRINGING
Back by popular demand: Cocktail Thursdays return after Labor Day. I’ve already developed most of the recipes for September and October and can’t wait to share them. Expect a mix of refreshing late-summer sips and warming early-fall cocktails.
LOVING
I’ve loved how much you embraced Summer Fridays this year. It felt even better than last year, and I almost didn’t bring it back — but I’m so glad I did. After this post I’ll return to sharing recipes on Fridays, and I’ll still drop occasional seasonal posts in the Crumbs section. Fall is my favorite season and I’ve got a lot of recipes coming your way.
Definitely planning a s’mores-filled weekend here — bonfires, gooey marshmallows, and chocolate. Perfect end-of-summer fun.
