This summer Friday would be absolutely perfect if I could get my hands on a lobster roll!

EATING

We’re living on grilled vegetables lately — they’re our weekend staple. I’m also planning to make a grilled Thai pork tenderloin and a big batch of my smoky summer chicken salad. Simple, fresh, and perfect for warm evenings.

DRINKING

I’m craving a classic margarita on the rocks; it’s my go-to recipe. For a nonalcoholic option, iced peach coladas are refreshing and delicious.

MAKING

I want to try a lobster grilled cheese — it’s the next best thing to a buttery lobster roll. I’ve also been thinking about hot Cheetos street corn, which I’m pretty sure I’ll make again tonight.

BAKING

These little peach hand pies are so good with vanilla ice cream. I’m also tempted by cherry cheesecake brownies — they’re truly irresistible.

CRAVING

Since sharing a coffee Oreo ice cream recipe yesterday, I’ve been craving my lavender latte ice cream. Ice cream season is in full swing.

LISTENING

I’ve been playing a fun ’80s playlist — anything to drift out of 2020, honestly. It’s upbeat and always puts me in a better mood.

READING

I recently started Hello Summer and was hooked right away. This month’s reading has been slow because I’ve been focused on book edits, but I’m gradually getting back into more books. I’ve also been excited to hear that The Vanishing Half is becoming an HBO series — such great news for readers who loved the novel.

WATCHING

I watched a Brene Brown video about trust that really resonated. It’s thoughtful and worth a watch if you’re into personal development and meaningful conversations.

WEARING

I’ve been wearing a pair of On Cloudswift shoes for walking and light run-walk sessions. They’re comfortable and supportive, great for outdoor use. I still love my Adidas Ultraboosts for everyday wear, especially indoors, but the Cloudswifts are excellent for getting outside without worrying about ruining pricier shoes.

BUYING

I don’t often buy from social ads, but I preordered Dr. Brite sanitizing wipes a few months ago when sanitizing products were hard to find. They arrived recently and I love them — the peppermint and eucalyptus scent is refreshing, and they’re convenient to keep in the car compared with stronger-smelling alcohol wipes.

SHARING

We released a new video for our favorite baked beans recipe. The video shows the whole process so you can see exactly how it comes together — it’s a reliable, crowd-pleasing dish.

LOVING

Commodity fragrances are back in stock, and I’m thrilled. Commodity Gold has long been one of my favorite perfumes, and when the brand paused operations I missed it. Finding it available again felt like a small victory; I already ordered a travel size. It’s a lovely scent and felt like the perfect rediscovery.

DRAWING

I’m putting together a schedule for the upcoming school year. Remember those color-coded family schedules that circulated at the start of quarantine? I laughed at the time, but now a clear, manageable schedule feels essential. I’m designing one that’s useful without being overcomplicated — tips are welcome!
