Happy summer Fridays to you!
EATING
I’ve been loving easy, satisfying sandwiches and sliders this season: my turkey summer pool sliders, blue cheese BLTs, and grilled chicken avocado sandwiches are all on repeat. They’re simple to prepare, portable for pool days, and packed with bright, fresh flavors.
DRINKING
For drinks, whipped coconut cream cold brew has been a go-to pick-me-up—rich and cooling. On hotter days, frozen gin and tonics are perfect for slow afternoons and backyard hangs.
MAKING
In the kitchen I’ve been making lots of light, seasonal dishes. Triple berry crunch salad is a favorite for gatherings, and bircher muesli makes an easy, healthy breakfast. For a quick savory meal, Greek chicken lettuce cups with avocado tzatziki are refreshing and ready in about 20 minutes.
BAKING
On the baking front, peach cobbler granola brings the taste of summer to your morning bowl, while sun-dried tomato scones are a delicious savory option for brunch or snacks.
GRILLING
Grilling has been all about vegetable-forward sides and smoky proteins. I’ve been making grilled zucchini corn orzo salad and smoky grilled chicken pita flatbreads with creamy feta—both are grilled, vibrant, and great for feeding a crowd.
CRAVING
I keep reaching for the best green bean salad ever and chili lime watermelon—both feel like quintessential summer dishes when the heat is relentless.
LISTENING
For mornings, a slow summer mornings playlist sets the tone perfectly. It’s mellow, uplifting, and helps ease into the day.
READING
I just finished Ex Vows and loved it—definitely one to add to your stack. For more suggestions, my full summer reading list is available and full of great picks.
WEARING
Swim suits and easy cover-ups have been my uniform. I’ve lived in my La Blanca suit this week—the navy is beautiful—and the pareo wrap skirt has been a favorite for poolside outings. I’m also still a fan of my Andie Malibu suit.
LOVING
This snack box has been gold on our vacation and during baseball season. It’s been a hit with the kids for daily outings—so handy for packing a mix of treats. I’m tempted to have a second one to separate salty snacks from fruit and cheese.
SHARING
A few practical items that made the week easier: collapsible buckets for beach and travel, a magnetic alphabet puzzle for quiet playtime, and a gentle hypochlorous acid spray for quick cleanups.
SHOPPING
It’s the last few days of the Nordstrom sale, and many favorite picks are still available: comfy sweatshirts, ponte pants, cozy slippers, a packable rain jacket I love, Vionic boots, a must-have hand cream, Osea body balm, my favorite flat iron, and kids’ Nike sneakers. If you’ve been waiting for the right sale, now’s a good time to check.
TRAVELING
We’re headed home from vacation this week. It’s always bittersweet, but I also look at returning as a chance to reset. I found a helpful piece on easing the stress of returning from travel that made the thought of going home feel calmer.
PREPARING
I adore this time of year, and while I’m sad the kids will be back to school soon, we’ve been preparing slowly with a back-to-school list and a few essentials. This summer has been one of the best—really leaning into giving the kids memorable days, activities, and simple moments together. It’s been amazing to see them enjoy it so much.
