Hello summer Friday!
EATING
One of my go-to dishes this season is the summer stone fruit couscous salad—light, bright, and full of juicy peaches and nectarines. I’m also loving my summer carnitas tacos for an easy, flavor-packed weeknight dinner, and the buffalo chicken chopped salad when I want something hearty but fresh.
DRINKING
For warm afternoons, fresh peach gin and tonics are perfection—simple, boozy, and fruity. I also can’t resist a frozen watermelon agua fresca for a cooling, refreshing sip.
MAKING
I make the smoky summer chicken salad for lunches all the time. It’s smoky, tangy, and full of texture—hands down one of my favorites to prep ahead.
BAKING
On the baking front, the banana cake with chocolate peanut butter frosting is a crowd-pleaser every time. I’m also baking my favorite zucchini bread constantly—seasonal and comforting.
CRAVING
I always crave the no-churn coffee Oreo ice cream. It’s rich, nostalgic, and ridiculously easy to whip up.
SNACKING
For snacking, peach cobbler granola is my current obsession. It pairs perfectly with yogurt or a splash of milk. I’m also into salted mojito watermelon wedges when I want something playful and refreshing.
GRILLING
On the grill, portobello burgers with house sauce are a must—meaty, savory, and satisfying. Another favorite is the grilled salmon club sandwich for a slightly lighter but still indulgent option.
LISTENING
I’ve been listening to “Ina’s Mini Cooper Ride” playlist—such a fun mix. I spotted it on Instagram and immediately added it to my rotation.
READING
I’m reading Don’t Let Him In and compiling a big summer reading list. There are so many great titles perfect for lazy afternoons and beach days.
WEARING
I’ve been wearing a Spanx midi dress that I adore—comfortable and flattering, fitted on top but flowy below. I’m also eyeing a cinched dress that’s ideal for easy, casual travel and running around town.
SHOPPING
This week’s sales feel overwhelming, but I’m mostly focused on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and a few Prime Day finds. I keep my favorite Nordstrom picks and Amazon storefront items organized so I can shop thoughtfully rather than impulsively. I also have back-to-school lists ready for easy access.
LOVING
If you enjoy Elemis skincare, a small travel pouch makes trying their travel set convenient. I use the cleansing oil and balm, a resurfacing pad, and an SPF cream—this combination travels well and keeps my routine simple.
BUYING
As I approached 40, I decided to stop buying cheap, disposable jewelry. That said, I still like affordable pieces for the beach and travel. Pavoi makes pretty, dainty options I don’t mind losing or getting sunscreen on. I also wear a set of Buddha girl bangles I’ve had for years—durable and sentimental.
SHARING
I regularly share summer weeknight dinners that I make on repeat—simple, flavorful meals that are easy to cook and crowd-pleasing.
PLANNING
When my kids started school I switched to an academic year planner. I still rely on Passion Planner and recently returned to a daily duo format for more structure. I also spotted a Dailee planner that looks perfect for type-A organizing and I’m tempted to try it out.
TRAVELING
I’m excited to head to Nantucket next week for a book event and signing with Elin Hilderbrand. We haven’t been back since 2019, so I’m really looking forward to the trip and all the island charm.
