I wish every summer Friday felt this relaxed and sun-soaked.
EATING
I’ve been alternating the same simple favorite: tomato toast. It’s fresh, bright, and endlessly satisfying — I keep coming back to it.
DRINKING
If you haven’t tried the whipped coconut cream cold brew I posted this week, make one soon. It’s creamy, a little tropical, and incredibly refreshing. For something boozy, the watermelon rosé margaritas are a perfect summer cocktail — light, fruity, and fun.
MAKING
We’re driving to Northern Michigan today, so I prepped a few things for the trip. I made a big batch of homemade pesto and another batch of homemade ranch to have on hand. I also considered making chipotle caramel Chex mix for snacking — maybe next time. We’ll be cooking most nights, so these easy, flavorful staples will be handy on the road and at the house.
BAKING
The sesame pretzel focaccia is a weekend must-try. It has the perfect balance of chewy, salty, and savory notes — ideal to serve with soup, salad, or just to snack on warm.
P.S. I’m sharing a step-by-step on Instagram this afternoon for my chewy oatmeal chocolate chip zucchini cookies if you want to follow along.
CRAVING
More s’mores. The chocolate chip cookie s’mores bars are over-the-top in the best way — gooey, chocolatey, and nostalgic.
LISTENING
We’ve had our beach vibes playlist on repeat — it’s full of sunny, laid-back tracks that feel like summer. I’m also listening to the Michelle Obama podcast and really enjoying it; it’s thoughtful and inspiring.
READING
I just started The Last Flight and I’m already hooked. I also keep a running list of what I’ve been reading each month and a larger summer reading list that I refer to when choosing my next book. One piece I re-read recently that stuck with me was John Lewis’s final published op-ed — powerful writing that resonates every time.
LOVING
I’ve been loving Ally Love’s energy. She’s been my favorite Peloton instructor and her Instagram is full of bright, positive moments. Her optimism is contagious and feels like a little boost on busy days.
SHARING
There’s a new video this week for my life-changing tomato pie. We made it again recently and it reminded me how incredible and satisfying it is — perfect for summer gatherings or an easy weeknight recipe.
WEARING
I mentioned these in my July favorites, but I’ve practically lived in my Freedom Moses slides — they’re comfortable and easy. I’ve also been using a coconut hydration body oil that smells wonderful and leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized. It’s been my go-to beauty pick for the month.
SHOPPING
After your feedback last week, I’ll share my Nordstrom sale favorites when the sale begins. Many items that appear in the sale are already staples in my monthly favorites, so I’m excited to highlight a few standout pieces soon.
TRAVELING
We’re heading to Northern Michigan today, and it feels a bit surreal. It’s a privilege to get a change of scenery right now. We booked the place last year and waited to see how plans would unfold this season. The trip there has always felt naturally distanced — we drive and spend time outdoors — and, for me, it feels a bit nostalgic. Growing up, my family often enjoyed home-cooked dinners with local Michigan produce, and this trip already feels like a throwback to those relaxed summer nights. I’m grateful we get to go.
