This might feel totally wrong — and totally right at the same time.

It’s the idea of putting savory bacon on a nostalgic childhood sandwich: peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. Not just any bacon, but the crispy, smoky kind that somehow makes everything better.
I’ve made plenty of bold bacon combinations, but this one stands out. It’s unexpected, indulgent and — if you’re into sweet-and-salty pairings — irresistible.

If you’re a bacon enthusiast who also loves peanut butter and marshmallow, and you don’t mind bacon showing up in unexpected places, you’ll want to try this.
Trust me.

If you’re not into it, that’s fine — we can still be friends. My mom is the ultimate bacon purist and thinks bacon doesn’t belong in sugary dishes. I disagree; she’s missing out. My grandpa has his own quirky combinations — peanut butter and pickle sandwiches — so everyone has their tastes.

I wasn’t always a fluffernutter fan. It wasn’t until my younger brother started making them that I realized what I’d been missing. With leftover marshmallow fluff in hand, and no desire to buy more candy, I reached for the peanut butter and toasted bread — and then, somehow, bacon appeared in the picture.
Everything tastes better on toast in my world. Toasting the bread gives texture and warmth that lets the peanut butter melt just enough to cradle the fluffy marshmallow and crisp bacon.

It’s simple, comforting and unexpectedly perfect: peanut butter, marshmallow fluff and bacon, sandwiched between toasted slices of bread.

Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, fried
- 4 slices whole grain sourdough bread
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup marshmallow fluff
Instructions
- Break the cooked bacon into pieces that will fit inside the sandwiches. Toast the bread in a toaster or, for extra flavor, in the leftover bacon grease in a skillet. Spread peanut butter on two slices and marshmallow fluff on the other two. Layer the bacon on top of the peanut butter slices, press the sandwiches together, slice in half and enjoy.
