I’m back with more summer recipes you’ll want to make on repeat.

Today I’m sharing the second half of my mustard obsession and four simple, flavor-forward dishes using French’s Classic Yellow Mustard that are perfect for picnics, backyard dinners, and relaxed entertaining. If you love bright, tangy, slightly sharp mustard flavor, these ideas will be right up your alley.
These recipes are intentionally easy: many can be made ahead, and none require precise measurements to be delicious. A spoonful of mustard whisked into a dressing, dip, or sauce instantly boosts the flavor of vegetables, salads, potatoes, and grilled dishes. Below are four favorites I keep coming back to all summer long.

1. Grilled or Roasted Baby Potatoes with Chimichurri
My top pick: baby potatoes finished with a bright chimichurri. I love chimichurri for its fresh herb punch, and adding a tablespoon of mustard brings an extra layer of tang and balance to the herb, garlic, oil, and vinegar base. Use this chimichurri as a finishing drizzle for roasted or grilled potatoes — it’s also fantastic on steak, chicken, salads, or roasted vegetables.

2. Massaged Kale Salad with Mustard Dressing
Kale salad gets even better when tossed with a simple mustard-and-olive-oil dressing and massaged to soften the leaves. Massaging reduces bitterness and gives kale a tender chew. I drizzle the dressing over torn curly kale and massage for a few minutes, then let it rest briefly before topping with cherry tomatoes, salt, and pepper. It makes a bright, satisfying starter or side.

3. Greek Yogurt Dill Dip with Mustard
For a quick appetizer, mix plain Greek yogurt, a touch of mayo, a spoonful of mustard, plenty of chopped fresh dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. This tangy dill dip pairs beautifully with raw vegetables for a crudité platter and doubles as a bright dressing for salads. The mustard adds depth and keeps the dip lively — you’ll want to make a big bowl.

4. Grilled Cabbage Wedges with Chili Mustard Sauce
Grilled cabbage wedges are smoky, crisp at the edges, and unexpectedly addictive. Finish them with a chili-mustard drizzle made from mayonnaise, honey, ancho chili powder, mustard, and a little olive oil. The sauce is spicy, sweet, and tangy — it elevates charred cabbage into something you’ll crave at every cookout.

One of the best things about working mustard into dressings and sauces is how effortlessly it enhances flavors. A spoonful added to chimichurri, a kale dressing, a yogurt dip, or a chili drizzle adds brightness and complexity without fuss.
