Nutella Oatmeal Cookie Milkshake Recipe

This is a life-changing day.

Life. Changing.

It’s surprising to admit, but this is the first time I’ve ever shared anything with Nutella on this blog. Yes — anything. For years I avoided the stuff, then pregnancy and travel nudged me over the edge. While on a book tour I ate Pinkberry for dinner a ridiculous number of times and always added Nutella and the milk chocolate crunch. That habit led to buying a large tub, and then eating it straight from the jar.

At first I didn’t get the hype. Then I did. I spread it on toast, melted it over ice cream, spooned it straight into my mouth and drizzled it onto pancakes. Simple, addictive, perfect for quick breakfasts and travel snacks.

I almost always think sharing a smoothie or shake recipe is a bit of a cop-out — unless it involves booze — but I’ve been drinking this since December and absolutely love it. It’s part of my current oatmeal phase (hello, feeding-a-human cravings), and it’s become a regular in my kitchen. When you need something simple to grab on the go, a quick blend of a few ingredients is life-saving. Also: babies often love the sound of the blender, which helps.

Most importantly, this tastes like an oatmeal Nutella chocolate chip cookie in liquid form. No judgement if you accidentally (or intentionally) drop a cookie into the blender.

The result: chewy and smooth, like the best oatmeal cookie turned into a shake. Dead delicious.
