Summer Fridays Volume 6: New Beats for Sunny Days

summer fridays

Hello, perfect summer Friday!

EATING

Warm, buttery lobster rolls are at the top of my list. I’m also making grilled gorgonzola potatoes and a fresh green bean salad to go alongside. Zucchini corn fritters are a must, and I love grilled marinated peppers served with burrata for a simple, flavorful starter.

DRINKING

Frozen watermelon mojitos are the ultimate summer drink—refreshing and light. I’m also enjoying sparkling rosé Pimm’s cups for easy, effervescent sipping.

MAKING

I’ve been making my summer stone fruit Caprese salad on repeat. The basil vinaigrette brings everything together and is the highlight of the dish.

BAKING

For dessert, I turn to a chocolate chip skillet cookie—warm, gooey, and chewy straight from the pan.

CRAVING

No-churn peanut butter Oreo ice cream has been calling my name. It’s rich, indulgent, and perfect for hot days.

GRILLING

Grilled goat cheese–stuffed zucchini boats are a favorite for the grill. I also love grilled pesto-peach pizza for a sweet-savory twist, and grilled baguettes topped with Greek salad are my go-to for casual summer meals.

LISTENING

My summer kitchen playlist is on heavy rotation—one of my favorite mixes for cooking and entertaining. Put it on shuffle and let the music run while you prep.

READING

I’m excited to start Sunshine Nails—people have been raving about it. I also put together a summer reading list I’m working through this season.

WEARING

With this heat, I’ve been living in butterluxe longline workout tanks that feel like a high-end dupe—light and comfortable for everything from errands to workouts. I also keep a neon pink windbreaker on hand; the fabric is silky and stretchy, perfect for breezy evenings.

SHOPPING

I’m gearing up for both the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and Prime Day since we’re moving next month and need a few home essentials. A current promo offers 20% off select Anthropologie items through the LTK app, so I’ve been browsing pieces I love: on-cloud shoes I wear constantly, a favorite Clare V tote and belt bag, a travel spray perfume I’m obsessed with, terrycloth headbands that are much more affordable than designer versions, and must-have Birkenstock EVA sandals. I also grabbed gold-rimmed stemless wine glasses I use for photos and a reliable cast iron skillet. Shopping through the app applied the discount with code ANTHROLTK20.

LOVING

I can’t sing enough praises for my W&P porter bowls. I own multiple sizes and use them for dressings, sauces, pestos, yogurt bowls, overnight oats, and small leftovers. They seal tightly, never leak, and are perfect for packing in a bag. I’ve had mine for years and they’ve become indispensable in my kitchen.

SHARING

One of the best purchases after Jordan was born was the Doona—such a lifesaver for traveling with young kids. We used ours until recently and loved how convenient it made outings. I also discovered an excellent padded car seat travel bag compatible with the Doona that’s great for trips. And for a small everyday favorite: if you need a reliable claw clip, the Teleties-style version is sturdy and easy to use.
