It’s time for my kids’ gift guide. If you’ve browsed the baby section of this site, many of these favorites will look familiar. These are items we truly love for babies and young children — Max is three, almost four, and Emilia is still a baby — and they’ve been hits with both kids. I had so much fun compiling this list and would love to hear your favorites in the comments.
p.s. You can check out all of my gift guides on the site’s gift guides page.
Holiday 2018 Kid’s Gift Guide
Pottery Barn All-in-One Retro Kitchen. We bought this kitchen two years ago and it remains a huge favorite. Max plays with it every day, and Emilia loves standing at it too; they both enjoy “cooking” together.
Melissa & Doug One Stop Shop Play Store. We’re getting this for the kids this year because Max is obsessed with playing “store” and pretending to check people out. It frequently sold out last season, so I already waited in line to pick it up at Target.
Little Tikes Grill. This sits next to our play kitchen and was a gift Max received last year. He “grills” pretend food for us constantly.
Louloulollipop Teethers. The cutest teethers — Emilia still loves playing with them.
Green Toys Wagon. Both of my children adore this wagon and use it all the time.
Sorel Toddler Boots. Max got a pair last year and they are perfect for snowy, cold climates. He’ll still fit into them this year before I pass them on to Emilia.
Sorel Baby Caribooties. I bought a pair for Emilia because they’re incredibly cute. I wanted them last year but she was too small.
Zutano Booties. These are my favorite baby booties because they snap on and stay put. I bought another pair for Emilia since she tends to pull socks off. They come in many colors.
Balance Bike. Max received a balance bike last year and loves cruising around on it.
Little People Farm Animals. Emilia is obsessed with Little People toys — Max loved them too, especially the superhero sets.
Hanna Andersson PJs. I highly recommend these pajamas; they’re what my kids wear most of the time. Watch for sales, especially after Christmas.
Magnetic Doodle Board. A travel essential. It’s inexpensive but always entertaining and a great way to keep kids busy on the go.
Fat Brain Toys Spinagain. A favorite for both kids — a simple, engaging toy that encourages manipulation and play.
Patagonia Hi-Loft Down Sweater Hoody. I’ve recommended this coat for years. It’s lightweight yet warm, ideal for cold climates and outdoor play. Max wore his for two seasons and now I’m preparing one for Emilia.
Crayola Color Wonder Scents Markers and Stamp Set. We’ve used Color Wonder products for years, and this scented set was a fun surprise. The markers and scented stamp pad (chocolate-scented) add an extra sensory element to art time.
Play-Doh Spinning Treats Mixer. Another of Max’s favorites — it keeps him entertained for a long time and encourages creative play with Play-Doh.
Grapple Toy Holder. A must-have for outings. Emilia enjoys playing with it on her own, and it’s incredibly handy for keeping toys accessible.
TOMY Hide and Squeak Eggs. Both kids love this set and will actually sit and play with it together, which is always a win.
