Chocolate Strawberry Dessert Quesadillas: Sweet Recipe & Tips

Most days I crave something sweet.

Okay, that’s an understatement.

Every day I want sweets. My sweet tooth protests loudly if it doesn’t get what it wants.

To keep my sanity, my husband, and my wardrobe intact, I opt for desserts that are lighter but still indulgent. After all, it’s still dessert.

Enter sweet quesadillas.

Chocolate peanut butter quesadilla

I crisped the cinnamon tortillas in a skillet on the stove, though you could easily finish them in the oven if you prefer.

The tortillas themselves are irresistible. Cinnamon on warm, toasty bread is nostalgic—like cinnamon toast from childhood—and that comfort is what makes these so good.

My husband will probably be teaching our kids to feed themselves as soon as they arrive—preferably a piece of steak with a fork, if you ask him.

He jokes that babies will be eating solid food within minutes and walking by six months. I’m only half kidding when I say his expectations are ambitious.

His typical reaction to seeing a baby fed is: “Can’t that kid feed himself yet?”

Pray for me. And for our future children.

In the meantime, make these chocolate-peanut butter quesadillas. It’s a classic combination for a reason.

Unless you add bacon—then it gets even better.

Served dessert quesadilla

I think adding fresh fruit to these quesadillas would be delicious.

Mr. How Sweet, however, votes no for fruit and yes for meat.

To him, meat can double as dessert.
