Summer Fridays Volume 9: Top Picks for Sunny Weekend Style

summer fridays

It’s the last summer Friday of July — here’s what we’re planning for the weekend.

EATING

I’m making my ricotta tomato jam jar, and maybe the bruschetta chicken. I’m also eyeing a slow-roasted tomato basil pasta for an easy, flavorful meal.

DRINKING

All the chilled rosé, ideally on the beach. My rosé guide is a few years old, but many of the same brands remain favorites for warm-weather sipping.

MAKING

Warm, buttery lobster rolls are on the list — the perfect weekend treat and totally worth the effort.

BAKING

A chocolate zucchini snack cake is a great way to use garden zucchini and makes an excellent, not-too-heavy dessert.

GRILLING

Grilled chicken pitas with creamy feta are a go-to for summer grilling — bright, smoky, and filling.

CRAVING

Grilled prosciutto-wrapped peaches with goat cheese — a beautiful balance of savory and sweet that feels like peak summer.

READING

For book club in August we picked The One You’re With. It sounds like a compelling read and perfect for long summer evenings.

LISTENING

The boat drinks playlist is on repeat and will be my soundtrack for next week — breezy tunes for sunny days.

SHOPPING

I’m browsing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale now that it’s open to everyone, updating my favorites and noting the best finds.

BUYING

Excited to bring home favorites from Michigan — jars from American Spoon and treats from Cherry Republic are always on the list.

LOVING

The Olympics have been incredible. The gymnastics and swimming were emotional and inspiring, and the athletes’ support for each other is beautiful to watch. The interviews and performances have been must-see TV every night.

SHARING

Leslie Jones’ commentary on the Olympics has been hilarious and full of personality — a fun complement to the events.

TRAVELING

Heading to one of my favorite places. You can catch glimpses from our earlier trips to the same spot for more context and travel inspiration.
