Summer Fridays Volume 9: Your Ultimate Summer Playlist

summer fridays

Here’s a summer Fridays roundup from one of my favorite places—simple things I’m loving right now.

EATING

Street corn grilled cheese and zucchini corn fritters are my go-tos this week. I’m also making my summer turkey sliders when I want something quick and satisfying.

DRINKING

I’ve been sipping a spicy watermelon sangria and my favorite rosé Aperol spritz for warm evenings.

MAKING

I love assembling a hummus platter for weekend grazing—easy, colorful, and always a crowd-pleaser.

BAKING

Blueberry zucchini muffins with lemon glaze are perfect for using up extra zucchini and making breakfast feel special.

CRAVING

I’ve been craving crispy chicken with avocado cucumber salad and a gooey Jarlsberg cheese dip for snacking nights.

GRILLING

Grilled chicken skewers are my staple for backyard meals. Grilled peaches with lavender ricotta make a lovely sweet finish.

SNACKING

Peach cobbler granola has been my snack of choice, and I’m also into summer-marinated goat cheese for cheese boards.

LISTENING

On repeat: an early 2000s country playlist that brings back all the summer vibes.

READING

I just started These Summer Storms and it’s pulled me in right away—easy to read and perfect for summer evenings.

LOVING

I’m really into a stitchy hemming tool that fixes clothes quickly. It’s so handy for tucking sleeves, adjusting hems, or pinning shirts before heading out.

WEARING

My favorite woven wide-leg pants have become a summer staple—comfortable and easy to dress up or down. I’m also wearing a crochet mixi dress that feels like the dress of the season.

SHOPPING

My suitcase is on sale and travels beautifully—different colors make it easy to spot on the carousel. I’m also still browsing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and doing another pass. I keep reaching for my favorite jeans, a navy bucket bag that’s surprisingly versatile, and fun leopard socks.

BUYING

I picked up a three-in-one crossbody bag that’s excellent quality and great for everyday use or travel. We also added a second simple human mirror for the other bathroom and absolutely love it.

PREPARING

Back-to-school prep is wrapped up here: supplies, uniforms, shoes, and everything in between. I’ve added a few items to my packing list and enjoy putting together little teacher care packages at the start of the year.

TRAVELING

Heading back to my favorite place this weekend—can’t wait to get there and unwind.
