Hello summer Friday! Here’s what our weekend looks like.
EATING
One of my favorites: brown butter garden vegetable pasta skillet. I also love the summer BBQ quinoa salad for warm-weather dinners—both are easy, flavorful, and perfect for a laid-back weekend meal.
DRINKING
Lemonade frosé is a must right now. I’m also dreaming of a giant margarita—salty rim, lots of lime, and ice-cold.
MAKING
With berries still in season, I’ll be making a strawberry crunch salad. For something sweeter, lavender vanilla latte ice cream is a weekend winner—creamy, fragrant, and surprising.
BAKING
Chocolate zucchini cupcakes with avocado fudge frosting are on the list. They sneak in a little veg while still feeling indulgent.
GRILLING
Caramelized onion grilled focaccia is heavenly right off the grill. I’m planning to pair it with a grilled spatchcock chicken for an easy but impressive meal.
CRAVING
Salted pretzel s’mores crunch bars—anything s’mores-related grabs my attention. The combo of salty and sweet is irresistible.
LISTENING
I’m spinning an old summer girls trip playlist from a few years ago. It’s full of fun, nostalgic tracks that set the perfect mood for sunny afternoons.
READING
I’m in the mood for a thriller, so Such A Quiet Place is on my list. If you want more options, check out my summer reading list for other great picks this season.
WEARING
Last year I fell for the Freedom Moses slides and I’m still wearing them nonstop. I don’t usually go for Birkenstocks, but these are lightweight, perfect for outdoor chores like watering plants, and great with kids around.
SHOPPING
I still have a few things on my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale wishlist—a cozy blanket, a versatile bag, and I’m seriously tempted by a leather jacket. I’ve curated a selection of favorites if you’re shopping the sale too.
LOVING
I enjoyed a quiz about your child’s spiritual age (and yours!)—it’s a fun little exercise. I always feel youthful but somehow also older at heart, which makes the results entertaining.
BUYING
If you’re as enthusiastic about seasonal decor as I am, those pumpkin pillows that sold out last year are adorable and tempting. I’m not ready to give up summer, but a small fall nod feels right.
PACKING
We’re gearing up for a Michigan trip. I’m a list-driven packer and usually have everything lined up, but traveling with a baby means bringing a lot more. My go-to bag is a large tote that fits everything, and I also love neoprene totes for durability. For baby gear, I’m taking a travel crib with a bassinet attachment, a portable baby dome, and a Baby Bjorn bouncer—items that have been lifesavers for us. Maybe I’ll put together a road-trip travel essentials post soon.
