The weekend is finally here — I’ve been waiting all week for it. How are you? How’s everything going? It’s hard to believe April is almost over. I know it’s predictable to say that, but it still feels wild. What are your plans for this Saturday? It’s a bit rainy here, but that didn’t stop me from already buying Max a stack of swimsuits and sun gear. I’m always daydreaming a few months ahead; sometimes I think I should stop, and other times I love it. Tell me something nice!

P.S. Next Thursday evening I’m doing a cooking demo at Crate focused on… cheese. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite cheesy recipes, and you get to taste them. There are only a few spots left — I’d love for you to come.

P.P.S. Our favorite cheesy chicken parmesan pasta bake is featured this week on The Pioneer Woman — comfort food at its best.

Favorites of the week:

Weekend plans: I’m tackling the ultimate chocolate chip cookie this weekend. I can’t resist trying the best version of a classic.

Also on my radar: a rhubarb crisp unicorn layer cake — yes, really. The idea of rhubarb in a whimsical layer cake is so intriguing.

Lox bagel pizza is calling my name. Combining bagel flavors with pizza feels like a brilliant crossover.

These photos of a sweet potato satay salad are making me crave raw vegetables — bright, crunchy, and full of flavor.

I’m awed by a London Fog cake with Earl Grey buttercream. The idea of delicate tea flavors folded into cake and frosting is utterly tempting.

Mini California sushi cones are such a delightful concept — tiny, portable, and perfect for parties.

Who wouldn’t want a chili cheese dog grilled cheese? It’s indulgent, over-the-top, and exactly the kind of mash-up I love.

This week I need to put roasted cauliflower and avocado pasta on the menu — it sounds fresh and satisfying, with great texture.

Fancy French bread pizzas are speaking to me lately. They’re simple, comforting, and endlessly adaptable for toppings.

Pistachio pavlovas with papaya curd and fresh raspberries are absolutely lovely. Light meringue, bright curd, and fruit make a beautiful dessert.

And then there’s a perfect chocolate fudge layer cake that looks impossibly rich and decadent — it’s making me seriously hungry.

There’s so much inspiration out there right now, from homey bakes to playful, modern takes on classics. I love the mix of bold, comforting dishes and lighter, creative salads and desserts. What are you excited to cook or bake this weekend? Any new recipes you’re dying to try? Share — I’m always looking for the next thing to make.
