Summer Fridays Vol. 13: New Music & Summer Vibes Playlist

Welcome to summer Fridays! We’re nearing the finish line of the week and I can’t believe how fast it went. Here’s what I’ve been up to and what I’m planning for the weekend.

MAKING

I still have a lot of peaches on hand, and top of my list is a ginger peach galette with a toasted almond crust. It’s always a crowd-pleaser and perfect for late-summer fruit.

SIPPING

I spotted some honeycrisp apples recently and got ridiculously excited—those are my favorite apples. They’re so crisp and flavorful. I’m planning to make maple honeycrisp margaritas and likely an apple cider sangria as well. Both feel perfectly seasonal and refreshing.

EATING

I’m easing into warm breakfasts again, at least for a little while. I’ll be making oatmeal baked apples with maple brown butter and toasted hazelnuts soon—leftovers taste great, too. I’m also experimenting with an updated oatmeal latte recipe. If you’re meal-prepping for the week, make a big batch of baked oatmeal; it’s practically dessert but also a hearty breakfast.

READING

I finished All Your Perfects in one night last week—couldn’t put it down. Colleen Hoover’s writing pulls me in every time. This week I picked up a YA novel, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, because I want to watch the Netflix adaptation. Have you read it or seen the movie?

WEARING

Two recent wardrobe favorites: a utility jacket I picked up at an anniversary sale that’s been perfect for rainy days and cool, air-conditioned indoors; and a few lightweight tops from Free People that I’ve been living in. Both are great for layering as the weather shifts.

BUYING

A Sephora sale started for VIB Rouge members, so I’m taking advantage of 20% off a few items I can only get there—like Drunk Elephant products. I haven’t been shopping there as much since I often buy at other stores and prefer their rewards, but this sale is worth a quick haul. If you’re shopping, pull together your must-haves before it ends.

LOVING

I found some bronze mosaic pumpkins in store and instantly wanted them for fall decor. I’m tempted to start decorating next weekend—just a few cozy touches around the house without going full pumpkin spice overload. I’ll still be swimming and sipping rosé through September, but a bit of autumn warmth at home sounds good.

LISTENING

I’ve been playing a dinnertime playlist on repeat. It’s that comforting mix that brings back memories of weekend evenings when my parents were getting ready to go out and the house smelled like a home-cooked meal. A good playlist makes casual dinners feel a bit more special.

Finishing the weekend off with a classic vibe. xoxo
