Summer Fridays: Volume 10 Playlist & Highlights

summer fridays

This week has been about easing back into everyday life after our trip — enjoying summer sunshine, fresh flavors, and simple pleasures.

EATING

While on vacation I accidentally recreated a caprese-style bread dish, and since then I’ve been eating fresh tomatoes topped with goat cheese, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic. It’s bright, simple, and addictive. If you can find fresh goat cheese, it takes the dish up a notch.

DRINKING

Pinot peach sangria is on the menu this weekend — light, fruity, and refreshing. I’m also planning to make Cajun peach lemonade for a slightly spicy, summery twist.

MAKING

I’m adapting a summer version of my sheet pan gnocchi and considering skirt steak with avocado pesto for an easy, flavorful weeknight dinner.

GRILLING?

Veggie sliders with goat cheese spread and roasted red pepper vinaigrette are happening this weekend. I love them, and it’s been far too long since we last made them.

BAKING

Cheesy stuffed pesto garlic bread is calling my name — full of basil and gooey cheese, it’s dangerously good.

READING

I’m excited to start The Last House Guest. It’s not my usual genre, but I’m into it right now. What are you reading this week?

LISTENING

We’ve been playing our new summer chill playlist — mellow tunes perfect for lazy afternoons and warm evenings.

WEARING

I’ve been living in a leopard print denim jacket I mentioned in my July favorites. I didn’t expect to love it, but the cut and the unexpected pattern have made it a summer staple. I wear denim jackets a lot, so it’s a fun change.

WATCHING

I couldn’t wait to talk about the new BH90210. The intro sent me straight into a nostalgia loop. I was definitely too young to watch the original when it first aired, but I snuck it in anyway — big rebellious move for a people-pleasing kid. The reboot felt both messy and oddly brilliant. What did you think of it?

LOVING

I’ve been enjoying Molly Sims’ YouTube channel — she posts regularly with a nice balance of wellness, workouts, beauty, skincare, and food, plus great recommendations for kids.

SHARING

I released a new video for my brown butter garden vegetable pasta. It’s an older recipe but always a favorite — I’ll be making it again this weekend.

CELEBRATING

With National S’mores Day coming up, consider making chocolate chip cookie s’mores bars — a fun and indulgent twist on the classic.

SAYING

I’m officially ready for fall — I know it’s early. I’ll keep enjoying the rest of summer through September, but I’m already excited about cozy candles and scarves. Maybe I’ll even do a little decorating after Labor Day.
