Almost everything in my kitchen gets used during Thanksgiving and the days leading up to it, but the items below are the ones I truly can’t live without. These are the tools I rely on every year to ensure the meal goes off without a hitch. Each item listed has been personally tested in my kitchen.

- Decorative roasting pan — my favorite piece for Thanksgiving: beautiful to serve from and sturdy enough to roast in, plus great for making gravy right on the stove.
- Mixing bowls — essential for prep, tossing salads, mixing sides and holding ingredients while you cook.
- Kitchen shears — indispensable for prepping the turkey and other kitchen tasks.
- Sharp knives — a sharp set or quality single knives are a must for carving, prep and efficient cooking.
- Cheesecloth — perfect for techniques like basting and creating ultra-crispy turkey skin.
- Kitchen twine — for trussing the bird and securing roasts.
- Basting brush — I keep several on hand for glazing and basting throughout the day.
