Electrolux Splits: The Elvis Banana Split Recipe and Tips

That’s right. I went there.

A bold banana split topped with caramelized bananas, a creamy peanut butter drizzle and crispy bacon.

So what makes up the Elvis banana split?

First, caramelized bananas: I sliced bananas and cooked them in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until they were golden and slightly caramelized. Next came three generous scoops of vanilla bean ice cream, a generous 1/4 cup of warm, melted creamy peanut butter drizzled over the top, and two slices of crisp, crumbled bacon to finish.

You heard that right.

Two slices.

I’m sharing this indulgent banana split for a meaningful cause.

To help raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research, Foodbuzz organized a banana-split blogging challenge. For every banana split posted by a Featured Blogger, Foodbuzz donates $50 to the cause. Sharing recipes like this can help spread the word and encourage donations.

You can join in by making your own banana split and supporting the fundraiser.

I don’t usually join these challenges — I’m more of a rebel who cooks what I want — but this one appealed to me for two reasons: it supports an important cause, and the idea of a bacon banana split made my knees go weak.

Can you blame me?
