What I’m Loving Right Now: Top Picks and Favorites

Friends,

I am beat this week — tired, stressed, and overwhelmed. Send a pound of bacon and a bottle of wine. A cleaning person would be nice too.

I wanted to share some of my favorite finds from around the blog world over the past seven days.

(Yes, I just cringed at the phrase “blog world.”)

Food

Bruschetta in a Jar from Julie — what a clever idea. I may not have the patience to can regularly, but I would gladly accept your extra jarred goods (fruit only; veggies aside from bruschetta).

Anna made Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars, which feed my ongoing pumpkin obsession.

Heather’s Deep Dish Caramelized Apple Bars made me swoon. With a stick of butter in the recipe, it’s no wonder I adore it.

Kacy did something adventurous with maple-glazed Brussels sprouts. It sounds daring — maybe I’ll give them a try.

Angela shared a recipe for high-protein garlic mashed potatoes. Mr. How Sweet loves mashed potatoes and protein, so this one will be a hit for him.

Jamie’s Corn Chowder looks like the sort of soup that makes me want to curl up with a blanket, watch a chick flick, and eat every crispy bacon piece on top.

Heather also made an incredible coffee and donuts cake. I might not attempt the assembly, but I’d happily admire and devour a slice — it’s truly a work of art.

My absolute favorite this week was the Blue Eyed Bakers’ autumn chocolate bark. It’s stunning.

Random things I enjoyed this week

Katie found an adorable apple sweater. If there’s anything worth splurging on, this might be it.

Tina wrote honestly about having weak moments and reminded readers that it’s okay not to be perfect.

FitSugar asked whether you ever cram before a dentist appointment. That made me laugh — guilty as charged.

Heather shared a thoughtful post about embracing struggle. I’ve noticed I read a lot of blogs written by people named Heather.

Next week How Sweet It Is turns one year old. I can’t believe it — lots of fun is planned, so stop by often.

What are you loving right now? What should I try next? I’m in desperate need of inspiration — leave any links or recommendations you like.
