Remember a few months ago when I shared those fantabulous cupcakes combining the world’s best flavors? They were a huge hit. Those cupcakes have become one of the most popular recipes on How Sweet It Is, and I’ll admit: sometimes I make a batch just for myself. No shame — they’re worth it. I’ve posted … Read more

Hey there! Happy daylight savings — for a food photographer, this is the best weekend of the year: more light at last. I’m excited to shoot outdoors and soak up the sunshine, even if it makes Max’s sleep schedule a little strange. With temperatures expected in the 60s, I’m hoping to spend as much time outside as possible. There’s also a big St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown, but I’ll pass on the green beer in favor of green ice cream.

So what are your plans for the weekend?

Lovely internet finds this week:

Absolutely stunning: this lavender earl grey cake.

Intrigued by this turmeric latte — I want to try it.

Is this real life? A gigantic Cinnamon Toast Crunch creation.

Treats for breakfast: carrot quinoa oatmeal breakfast cookies.

Craving these hot pastrami sliders today.

DIY sugar flower cake — yes please. Today is all about cakes.

Caramelized Autumn Fruit Stuffing Cups for Holiday Gatherings

Too early for stuffing? Never. At least not in this house. I must admit this was Mr. How Sweet’s idea. He loves stuffing. Good morning! How are you? We have a fun day planned with donuts, tacos, a little weekend swimming and some vacation prep — eeeeep! What are you up to today?

What do you think about Instagram Stories versus Snapchat? As much as I resist change, I’m actually enjoying Stories right now. Snapchat has become harder to navigate for finding people and tracking who’s viewing, and I don’t have time to keep another app open all the time.

I do miss the pretty Snapchat filters — and Max definitely misses the puppy filter.

If you missed my posts last week, you can catch my July beauty favorites and lifestyle picks. I’m loving a lot of things at the moment.

I’d love for you to follow along on Facebook and Pinterest too. Tell me what you want to see more of.

Loves of the week:

This peach and burrata salad — I wouldn’t complain.

I’ve been craving a s’mores brownie like whoa.

For next weekend: the best road trip playlist.
